Suicide Prevention Cairns

CAIRNS suicide prevention campaigners are calling for change on how suicide data is recorded among youth.

It comes as a new report shows an increase in youth suicide rates since 2004.

Machans Beach mother Ruth Crouch, whose son Declan took his own life two years ago, said deaths by suicide for those under 15 were not properly recorded.

“We don’t know how many people under the age of 15 are suiciding,” Ms Crouch said.

“Of course Declan was 13 and his death wasn’t included.

“Nobody can accept or believe people younger than 15 can be doing this.”

Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Dr Lesley van Schoubroecksaid work would soon begin to identify barriers in accessing mental health services in rural and remote Queensland.

“Last year, 22 young people died by suicide before their 18th birthday,” she said.

“For the first time we’ve seen the suicide of a child under the age of 10.
Clearly more needs to be done.

“This is a steady rise from 15 in 2004 and sadly most of these deaths are children under 15.”

Hi. I see that you don’t update your website too often.
I know that writing articles is time consuming
and boring. But did you know that there is a tool that allows you to create new
posts using existing content (from article directories or other blogs from your niche)?
And it does it very well. The new posts are unique and pass the copyscape test.
    You should try miftolo’s tools
